“Myths of Mountain and Sea" Exhibition - @Vanke Center

The Concept
Rather than questioning reality, I imagined a resolution that transcends logic.
“What’s wrong with blooming without fruit? Must one know how to swim to enjoy a fish?” — This lyric became the seed of this work.
I created a surreal forest: radiant mushrooms, floating fish and jellyfish, glowing vines, and strange bioluminescent plants. They coexist in a space where gravity bends and brightness defies darkness. In the face of invisible “weights” — unseen emotions, pressure, memories — this forest does not provide answers. It offers a response. A soft, maximalist resistance.

Before reality dissolves, there is always a gate. Luminous vines and flickering creatures seem to invite you into a logic turned inside out.

Deep in the forest floats an empty house. It feels like a vessel of memory — or perhaps an unspoken wish.

The stillness of the pool feels unreal. The whispers rising from beneath—are they the voice of the forest, or your own?

Time is not linear here. Every glowing clock embedded in the tree marks a moment you noticed—or didn’t.

Someone watches from above—maybe it’s the future you. Will you still choose to keep going?

Everything you’ve forgotten is still here, gently kept by the forest. And now, you’ve finally turned back to see them.
